Hi. The oil indicator that comes on the dash when you first turn on the ignition says my oil level is at minimum. but after topping up and checking the dipstick, my level seems fine. any ideas?

Depends on age of 206, if its multiplexed it also depends on what BSI software version is currently installed.
There not that great even when working correctly, use the dipstick as its a much more accurate reading.

Mine's been faulty for a little while now and it's never caused any problems, suspect it's senor related fault but wouldn't use it even if it did work correctly. Nothing wrong with the old fashioned way.

Don't rely on it, sometimes I get full of oil, another time its empty although its fine on the dipstick.

With age,and miles,i guess the sensor is not accurate as if it was bran new,and if the previous owner/s been using the oil for a very long mileage,i think a cleaning or replacing the oil sensor can fix that, also what MrBSI said about BSI software have to be considered as well.

My dash indicator is only accurate when I first start it in the morning. I check the dipstick everyday anyway no matter what the indicator says.
