Hi gazza yes the central locking works fine, also I had been driving around fine for 2 days.

I have just put the multifunction relay back in and reconnected the battery and the fuel pump is now priming, and fuel comes through the pressure valve on the fuel rail. But still does not start

Also no the chip board is still in the key and I have changed the battery just incase

The red light on the key flashes very quick when pressed, is this normal?

The chip isn't on the board, it's loose in the fob so easily lost.

Are you Darwen or Dingle side of Blackburn? Not sure what I'm doing Friday so may be able to get over with PP2000 then.

I'm up at guide near the willows eatery, I am working on Friday until 8pm. Is there any other day that is good for you. The key was not taken apart while I was driving it, it was only the next day after the car wouldn't start that I removed the battery, I'll check the key now.

You do realise a pump only primes on petrol for 3 seconds? Then continues once started?

Unfortunately not. Got baby sitting duties this week. Would have to be daytime Friday as I am duty manager from 6pm Friday night until 2am Monday morning, so got to be within 20 minutes of home just in case.

Sounds like the immobiliser isn't being disarmed.

Hey pal yes I realise it is only a few seconds, I just thought I remembered it being louder. The new pump is how I remembered it and louder than the old one. The old pump was very quiet and had to have the seats up and be close to it to hear anything.

I haven't been in the car for a while due to it being off the road, should I hear a beeping noise with the keys in and doors open? Or just a beeping with the lights on and door open. It's been that long I can't remember.

Not as of yet I was going to do them today but the mrs ended up wanting to go in town after our scan at the hospital.

Which ones are the main culprits? The one on the top of L/H strut, the one on the gearbox? Probably best tracing the negative lead of the battery and removing them all cleaning them up, or is there more than that.

I will get all the earths checked and try the imobiliser reset again and see if the problem persists, I will be working Friday 7am until 19:50 until I finish for Christmas on the 19th. Hopefully I will be able to solve the problem with out diagnostics, fingers crossed. I will check all sensor voltages and give them a clean up. After removing the multifunction relay and having the battery disconnected for a good 2 or 3 hours then reconnecting everything, the fuel pump started to prime again. Need to check the coils are sparking properly.

I will also check the battery voltage see if the reading are correct

Is pp2000 the only way of unlocking the bsi? I thought there was a way of doing it with the windows down battery off etc, I may be thinking of the imobiliser reset.

Thanks guys for all the replies it's all good info for me to go and try on the car.

How would this be solved? New transponder Ariel and then new Ariel and my key coded with pp2000?
