Hi ,,
When I start my GTI 180, I sometimes get warning lights pop up , I've had the anti pollution message come on and the engine management light at the same time , sometimes it displays that there is a breaking fault. But when I turn the car off take the key out and restart then the light does not come back on , but every now and then, I get different warning messages come on. The cars drives as it should and these messages only come on when I first start the car , they don't come on whilst I am driving and like I say they don't show again when I turn the car off and then back on.

Sounds like the battery is getting near to replacement time.
Go have the battery & charging system checked, budget for a replacement battery.

i would say the same as above as the 180's do not like a low battery. Also on mine i found that if i just jumped in the car and turned the key to start, it would sometimes throw up a warning but if i turned the key to the dash lights on postion and left it for a few seconds to do its self check it would be fine on starting.
