My Indicator goes off when it likes could it be a Bad Earth problem or something else ? and could i fix it myself

Buy a new indicator stalk off fleabay for 21 squid .
check its the right one . Yours is broken !

I had the same problem an my 1999 GTI, left indicator kept coming on by itself. I found this

Did it myself and it was really easy, just make sure you get yourself some TORX screwdrivers unlike the bellend who previously owned my car and attempted to take apart the steering column with a Phillips and a hammer! I got these.

I didn't disconnect the battery either.

I also did the same repair on my daughter's 'W' plate 206. Quite simple but not so easy (apparently) on later cars with multiplex.
