My engine fan doesnt come on.
First I bypassed the resistor by unplugging it and putting a wire between the 2 connections. The fan didnt run.
Next I found the 2 green relays behind the panel. One wire was broken so remade that but still no fan.
Next I took the covers off the relays and operated them by hand (Pressed them). One relay made the fan run but the other didnt.
So what next to make my fans run when they should?

Sounds like you've got a faulty relay, 1 relay is for low speed running and the 2nd is for high speed running. I'd replace both relays, I think from memory they are quite cheap.

The fan won't run if you just bypass the resistor! Something needs to trigger the fan to come on.
swap the relays over and see if the fan runs faster. The wiring and terminals can get very crusty though.

I swapped the relays over and it made no difference.
To be fair the relays did look quite crusty and they just look like normal 5 pin change over relays so will get another 2

Wouldn't be surprised if the wiring requires repair / replacement as well.
s**te design as it's part of the engine compartment wiring harness.
Very early 206's it was a separate short loom that was very easily & cheaply replaced.
My 53 plate 206 project has needed attention from my soldering iron for the relay & resistor wiring plug the connectors.

I am handy with the soldering iron so if the relays don't fix it will look for a good loom to replace

Good luck with finding a good replacement loom
Far easier to repair what you already have by splicing in new cable.

Just get some new wiring and terminals and it will be good for another few years.

Quick update:
Turned out to be both relays in the panel next to the fan (They are just 5 pin change over relays so you don't need Peugeot ones) and one of the trigger wires for the low speed fan was broken in the loom.
So I now have a working fan (Slow and fast speeds).
