Hi All,
Posted previously about replacing my external temperature sensor as mine is broken. Thought it was gonna be an easy enough job, found a decent enough guide on 206cc.co.uk and had done a fair amount reading on some threads from here and the peugeotforums but I've come to take my mirror to bits today and well... as always mine is totally different to every other mirror ever made for any 206 in any country with any access to the internet.
I popped off the cap as per all the guides:

which then showed me two screws at the top and two at the bottom. I undid these again as the guide said. And then... all the guides say "Just pop the mirror glass out" now how in the name of Lucifer's giant blue balls does the glass come out. The glass and the rest of the unit are all one. There's no other screws (Apart from the three that slips attaches the mechanism to the car which I've undone as well). You can't get at the back of the mirror at all and when you push the mirror glass as open as Id dare as there's all manner of gubbins attached to it (including what looks like wires, which is strange because I have manual mirrors).
Can anyone shed any light on this? Am I being an idiot? I'm fairly confident I can do everything once someone tells me the secret of getting this mirror glass out without having access to the rear and no access from the front or sides!
Thanks and kudos to anyone who can help! I'm really stuck here. Hour and a half I was fiddling with this idiotic bit of plastic to no avail!

The glass is clipped on to 2 ball joints on these later 206 mirrors, get a finger in-between the mirror housing & behind the outer edge of the glass & pull sharply, it will unclip.
Be careful you don't rip the 2 wires of the back if you have heated mirror glass.

Thanks mate.
Ah, that must be what those wires are. So I've literally just gotta yank it? I'm definitely gonna break it. How much are replacements? And could I fit one from an older model without a hitch or are there irreplaceabe differences?

Wait am I jamming my fingers behind the mirror from the car side or the outer side? Or does it not matter?
