Hi All,
I'm the recent owner of a 2003 (52 plate) 206 1.4HDI and its been a cracking little car so far.
Its had a few minor issues (all I've fixed) but I've been racking my brain over this one.
As the title says, I fixed indicator stalk switch for my Comm 2000 unit last night and the indicators are now working like a dream.
The issue that is now occurring is that the dipped beam head lights no longer turn on when then engine is off / ignition is on and when the engine is on, the dipped headlights are constantly on no matter what position the headlight stalk is set too.
The full beam and indicators are working as expected, its just the dipped headlights.
I've taken off and re-attached and the whole comm 2000 unit off about 15 times last night along with checking the wiring and I'm sure everything is in the correct place (although it was 2am before I gave up)
I'm not sure if this relates, but my windscreen wipers now operate when the engine/ignition is off but only for a a half a wipe (i.e each wiper stalk position causes the wipers to travel once across the windscreen)
To make things a bit clearer, I've uploaded the following video to YouTube.

Thanks for your help!
Cheers,
Neil

Wipers = your activating the service function for replacing the blades - perfectly normal.
Dipped lights = Either you haven't repaired the Com unit correctly OR its lost a NODE on the CAN.
Do you have auto headlamps? If you do then disable them & see what happens.

Hi MrBSI,
Thanks for your reply.
I wasn't too sure on the wiper movement as never used them when the engine is off. Glad to hear thats normal behaviour.
The car doesn't have the auto headlamp feature so unfortunately the issue doesn't relate to that.
In my bleary eyed state, I did notice (i think) that when I fully remove the comm 2000 unit and start the engine, that the dipped lights stay on.
Is permanent on dipped lights an indication that something isn't connected correctly?
Loosing a NODE on the CAN..would that be the basis for a whole new/refurb comm 2000 unit?
Thanks again,
Neil

Have you tried rebooting the BSI unit first?
If you have had the com unit disconnected from the wiring loom but with the battery still connected it can upset the BSI unit.

I gave the BSI reset a go yesterday but it was before work so not sure if it completed successfully.
I'll try again tonight and give a few other things a poke. Thanks for your help so far

I had to remove the wiper stalk connector to get the PCB board out but luckily the other end of the connector for the wiper was still attached.
The only reason the wire came off the opposite end of the indicator stalk was due to the force required to get it the stalk off the comm200 unit
