Hello all,
Was wiring up a rear camera from the reversing lights when I accidentally shorted out a wire to the car body. The effect was that the car would not start, plip key would not lock/unlock doors, no headlights, no radio, no wipers, no heater, no safety warning lights. The only thing which worked was side lights, instrument lights & interior light. The fault was found to be a blown fuse.
How the hell did all this lot go down when the culprit fuse was for the
Multifunction display, navigation control unit, boot lighting, audio equipment - 20A fuse number 4.
How can this fuse control all that lot - I'm baffled.
Anyone got any ideas ?
Regards
Jim

And the lesson learned? Disconnect the battery before fiddling with the electrics ...
