Wondering if anyone can help, first time poster. My 206 keeps intermittently cutting out and displaying the engine warning lights and sometimes is unable to start again after cutting out. Sometimes after cutting out it displays fault codes and others it says no communication from the ecu.

I've had coil pack replaced, new crank shaft sensor and the latest garage re earthed all the wires in the fuse box, which seemed to rectify the problem, but yesterday it went again. An auto electrician said I need a new ecu.

I've noticed a few people have had some problems with cutting out and misfiring but not seen anything which says they have sorted the problem and is fine. It's only got 80000 on the clock was hoping to get another 30/40k out of it before trading it in. Any help massively appreciated.

It's a 1.4. Can't remember the codes there have been three or four occasions they have been found. From memory one was cylinder and coil issues.

Double check your earth, sometimes it looks ok on 1st look but if you look deeper it is actually frayed inside.

Sounds like it could be your ICV aswell. Whip it out and give it a clean with some carb/brake cleaner.

Black 206 Gti. Soon to be 2.2

Did you get this sorted ? I have the same problem with mine, can drive 100km's one day no problem and then do less than than a km the next day and it will cut out.

It used to do it more after I had been in slow moving traffic, so changed the Crank sensor and coil Pack, seemed ok for a while the reappeared. Now it's getting more frequent but no error codes when on diagnostic.

Really becoming a pain in the a**e as can't trust the car anymore and wary of driving it in heavy traffic just in case it conks out.

Has anyone actually ever gotten to the bottom of this as it seems to have been going on for years judging by the threads on the subject.

For the record, and anyone reading this later. If you have a Diesel, check your EGR valve isn't sticking or gunked up
