I drive a 206 (Roland Garros) 1.4 from 2000 with automatic transmission.
Most of the time it starts without trouble, but every 4-5th time, it won't start. the starter motor is turning, but the engine won't start. when it finally does it is juddering a lot for the first minute.

I have now changed the battery, spark plugs and coil pack.
I also did a compression test that didn't indicate any problems with compression.
Edit: i have checked and cleaned all plugs and connections in the engine compartment and sprayed it with silicone to prevent moisture, but that did not help.

Also, sometimes my speedometer needle will drop to 0 while driving and spring up again after a few seconds. this is a really rare occurrence though.

Does anyone know what else could cause the problems?

As a starting point, it's worth having a look at the main earth between the engine and gearbox, could be a problem there, sounds pretty similar to the symptoms I had when mine went.

I will have someone check it with a diagnostic tool this week.
