hey everyone! Kind of need some help and advice. Was just driving home when I noticed this horrible whine noise, thought it might of been a belt. On closer inspection the sound is definitely coming from the gear box. Ive record what it sounds like. It does stop when the clutch gets pressed. Thanks anyone who can help

Sounds like the thrust bearing, does the clutch slip? You will be best to get the clutch replaced at the same time

Clutch seems fine. Had it changed 20,000 miles ago. I'm sure the thrust bearing got change too as it was really worn.
