Morning people of the interweb. I am thinking of changing my wheels to alloys and I have a few noob questions. Other than the locking nut, do I need different wheel nuts? They are the old GLX style 14'' ones. Also, my tyres will need changing this year and are 175 and I may have them changed to 185. Will putting larger tyres change any aspect of driving? Sorry if this has been covered before or the questions are a bit naff!

You need to use the correct alloy wheel bolts for the wheels you are fitting.
Also don't use Peugeot locking wheel bolts, the key is very weak design & known to fail.

What bolts you need depends on the 'seat' in the rim (ie the shape of the rim/bolt mating area (the bottom of the bolt holes). Can be conical, spherical, or flat.
If you go from 175 to 185 mm width, you should also lower the profile so that the overall diameter remains about the same. Google for 'tyre calculator' and you can compare various sizes. Try to keep the difference within 2-3%
In my experience, the wider the tyre, the more sensitive to poor, rutted, road surfaces. Definitely notice it when changing from winter (185/65-15 IIRC) to summer (205/40-17) tyres. But one gets use to it quickly, and after a few days it's just normal.Wider is also more susceptible to hydro planing.
I doubt you'll notice anything major between 175 and 185

Alloy wheel bolts are cheap enough new from any Peugeot / Citroen main dealer ONCE you know which part number you need for these wheels.
