I decided to use my bank holiday weekend changing the cam/timing belt. I'm all the way to the point of refitting and I cannot get this thing on for the life of me!
It's a 2.0 EW10J4 engine with the Allen key style tensioner.
I'm pretty sure that my issue is that I just can't get the tension between the crankshaft and the inlet camshaft (via idler). I reckon I am one tooth out. Any tips???
HELP!

Is the belt over all the cams and pulleys? You can always tension afterwards.

Done!
Tip 1: use plier handles to wedge the belt against the crankshaft and inlet camshaft. This stopped them jumping teeth when I tried to apply tension.
Tip 2: Ensure the tensioner is absolutely at the least tense point. It's hard enough as it is!
