There is a cheaper way,get a new key trans. chip, and Peugeot 4 digits, and PP2000 so you can have a new key instead the one you lost.
I have no idea how much that will cost.

This.
Get the key number and security code from the dealer. About £30.
Order a blank key (£5) and virgin transponder chip (£5) (ID45 - preplexed, ID46 - multiplexed) from ebay, if you are lucky you will find a decent secondhand remote so that the locking can be coded at the same time.
Take the blank key and key number to a decent locksmith, who should be able to cut it for you.
Find someone close to you with PP2000 to delete the old key and reprogram the new remote and transponder chip for beer tokens.

Peugeot main dealer with proof of ownership ( V5C registration document ) & also photo ID for proof of who you are.
You will need that to get a key cut & also the 4 digit security code to allow any keys to be coded - unless you have the blue plastic security card with CODE in your possession already?
To code a key you need Peugeot Planet OR other suitable equipment.
Plenty of people on here have Peugeot Planet.
A standard transponder key supplied & cut is cheap enough, coding it to the car is where I would look to save money.
