Hi

Was driving home the other night when I realised my lights were very very dim. Thought nothing of it at the time and got home safely. The next morning the car wouldn't start. The car will turn over but not start. Initially thought alternator or battery issues but I can't jump start the car with leads. My neighbour got the coil pack out but couldn't get a spark so suggested the coil pack. Changed the coil pack this morning and still nothing. Had a quick google and decided to change the earth from the gearbox but again nothing. Appears to be power to the fuse box as I've checked this.

Gave AutoAid a ring and just had them out. He suspects the engine is not getting any fuel although the pump under the rear seats is clearly getting power as you can hear it. He did state there is another pump under the bonnet but didn't know where. To be honest he was quite useless and im not convinced this is a fuel issue as surely the spark plugs would spark?

Any other ideas would be appreciated as Im starting to pull my hair out. I'm certainly no mechanic but can do bits.

Thanks again in advance.

Update: FIXED - Turns out when I replaced the key a week ago I didn't move over the little black magnet which is part of the immobiliser. What doesn't make sense is that the vehicle has worked a for 3 days without this then all of a sudden it didn't work and the dim lights?

Well its working for now.

Thanks

Arron

Location: Taking a gearbox off somewhere

May be worth checking the earth strap that goes to the gearbox as these are known to break and cause weird electrical problems.
