Opinions and ratings please! 1.4 16v A/C if so where did you mount the air intake at the front of the car?

What are you looking for? More power or more noise?

If power, stay clear, I have heard these actually reduce bhp (or at least do sod all for it)

If noise then it'll do that. Mount it somewhere it will get cold air, but not take in water - behind the headlight is a good place, or above and slightly infront of the radiator. Just keep the open end away from the exhaust manifold and engine and it will be ok.

Power, not really. Noise not bothered all though it would be nice to be able to here the engine (hard off hearing). Just want to free up some space so I can fit an oil catch can. I wouldn’t bother with the so called turbo fan that some seem to sell with them.
What would you recommend instead? if there is an alternative

its all pretty much the same though;think if you dont want to loose hp its best to make sure the cold air feed is in the correct place.
ive tried the turbo fan as well and believe it or not it does actually spin..but only at high revs..

If you're after noise, you'd be better off drilling some holes in the original airbox

More to free up space so I can fit an oil catch can.
I know if I want more hp I need to replace the exhaust system ( more it more out) just want the space. After all its only a 1.4

If more space a cone is probably the best way forward, just make sure it is situated as far away from the radiator and the engine as possible!
