Hi guys

You'll have to excuse my incompetence. I'm new to all this. I have a 1.4 8v with air con and manual control. I took the plunge and decided to buy a digital control panel and blower motor. I also have the servos and a single temperature sensor. I just have no idea what to do with it and was wondering if anyone here could lend a hand.

Cheers in advance
Frank

Do you have the loom around the heater box too?

If its preplex just remove the dash board, fir and away you go. Multi you need to reconfiqure the bsi as well

Okay, I did some digging and it would appear it's a multiplex version. Is this going to throw a spanner in the works at all?

onFrom what I understand - On the preplex models you need the control panel, wiring loom, cabin temp sensor, external temp sensor and I needed the entire heater matrix assembly with servos and assorted sensors. To install the new matrix am I right in saying you may as well drain the engine coolant and clean the system? That's what I had to do and it handles long traffic queues much better now.

When people told me it was more hassle than it's worth I didn't believe them but trust me it's a nightmare. I will try and make a decent guide for the Multiplex conversion as there isn't one around (to my knowledge). I'll keep you guys updated with how it goes.

Most people on here hate the climate control system as they don't understand how it works.

The thing I like about climate control is the simplicity. Set it once and it will keep the car St that temperature for you. No faffing about with knows trying to get the perfect temperature for it to only change next time you're driving.

Make sure the breaker also gets you the heater matrix and assembly. The assembly supports the installation of digital servos for controlling air flow, temp mix, recirculation etc. It also supports all the sensors except cabin and exterior temperature. Which are found behind the grill in the passenger airbag and in one of the wing mirrors (I forget which).
