Hi guys,

I have a Peugeot 206 1.4 8v (2002 plate)

I noticed a hissing noises coming under the bonnet, and assumed it was somewhere along the air intake but it actually seems to be coming directly from the injector closest to the cambelt (Injector #1 I am assuming!?)

If i put my hand around it and apply a touch of pressure it's blatantly obvious that is the source.

Any idea what's actually caused it to do that? Is the injector on the way out or could it be a faulty seal prehaps?

The car is currently running fine and two weeks ago past it's MOT.

Any help is appreciated thanks!

Rubber seal on the injector has gone if it's sucking in air from the side of the injector. Easy fix .
If it aint broke dont fix it !

How easy is easy!? Never really done anything with or around the injectors before.

Is this likely to cause any problems short term? I have noticed on idle (900rpm) the needle shoots up a tad (950 max) and i don't think it used to do that.

Ok thanks. I'll have a look and see if there is a bit of info on the internet somewhere.

Two 5mm Alan key bolts
Remove these pull fuel rail out.
Unclip the injector you want remove the electric connection .
Pull the rubber seal off the injector.
Replace it and install the injectors to the rail connect electric connection . Install injectors to the manifold Done.
Do it with a cold engine save the fire!

If it aint broke dont fix it !

Bit of grease on the seals help the injectors slide in place.

Cheers i'll have a pop next week.

I am assuming this is the likely culprit of a few minor idle/rev problems I have noticed since the seal is knackered? Suddenly have the odd very small spike in revs at idle and even bigger spike sometimes when I am slowing down with the clutch down and braking.
