Help !!
My 99 plate 206 keeps cutting out !!

I seems that it only does it once it reaches normal running temp.
When driving along the power just goes and the car starts to slow, if I dip the clutch all the ignition lights come on, lift off the clutch and it bumps straight off and I can continue driving.
I have also noticed, when driving there is a sudden drop off in speed when you take foot of the accelerator pedal, then it slows more gradually as you would expect.
It has also randomly started revving from 1k to 2k on tick over.

There are no codes on the ECU

I have tried a new Map sensor, fitted a new Crank sensor, changed the throttle position sensor.

Any idea's much appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

Hard to say without looking but would clean out the throttle body and all air intake. Without knowing what engine yours has but sounds like idle control valve symptoms or even an air leak

I'll take it off and give it a clean tonight.
I did take of the air intake and spray the inside of throttle housing with carb cleaner, weather it was coincidence or not but the car was much worse after, cutting out lots.
Totally fine tho morning on the short journey to work !
I believe the engine is HFX ?

Don't know if it make a difference, but when power goes while driving, nothing happens when I press accelerator pedal.

Id consider checking the throttle position wiring and sensor, also check the lambda sensor

I was also thinking lambda sensor, I have read that they're ignored by ecu until engine up to temp, which would tie in with my problem.

Well swapped the Lambda sensor, thought it has sorted the problem as drove 17 miles with no problem, but no it cut out again !
I think I will clean out throttle and idle valve on Thursday evening, see if it makes any difference.

I have changed the throttle sensor checked wires, swappped lambda for a used one I have had in a box of bits in garage for a couple of years. No change !
Should I try with lambda disconnected?

Charge or replace the battery making sure you follow the correct procedure for reconnecting.
