Hi,

I have recently purchased a Peugeot 206 S 5 Door (AC) 2005 54 Plate.

I am happy with the vehicle but do like to have a computer reading telling my how many miles I have left till more petrol and MPG readings and wondered if it would be possible in this 206?

I've seen on the Forums talk about Plexed and Non-Plexed and the need for a PPT-40 maybe? Also maybe some BSI changes using PP?

Please feel free to correct anything I have wrong here but my main question is is it possible in my vehicle? And if so could anyone please advise on the parts required?

Thanks in advance
D4

Hi and welcome!

Your car, being 2005, will be multiplexed. And as such, your MFD/Trip computer should be interchangeable.

PP-T Just refers to the plug type:

PP-T40 is for multiplexed cars.
PP-T30 is for preplex.

PP-T40s are interchangeable and pretty much plug and play. You will however need a button to cycle through the MFD options. This button is found on the end of the wiper stalk. To test whether the button functionality exists you're going to have to fit the display and then pop off the end cap. Have a good poke around down there with a cocktail stick and see if it cyclrs through the displays. If so you need to get a springy wiper stalk cap and fit that.

If the cocktail stick gives no joy you may need to enable it in the BSI via PP2000. From my experience they've usually worked straight out the box.

Hope this helps.

Also if you don't have one already, a temperature sensor may add to your new MFD's functionality.

Thanks for the info.

Sounds relatively easy to do.

MY original 1 line display already shows the temperature so I assume that the sensor is already there?

Thanks again

If your 1 line displays the temp then you're all good to go - assuming the button in the wiper stalk works out for you. If that does then you're plug and play ready.

I fitted a better MFD but the temp doesn't work so it's either not connected or isn't in my cheapo Style door mirrors .. still to check that. Not the BSI setting as I can switch it on or off but it doesn't show anything other than --C or --F.

Also I didn't try too hard but the end cap on my com2000 system doesn't want to pop off .. perhaps again there are some more basic ones that you can't convert.

If you need to upgrade the com2000 unit ... which one to upgrade to? .. there are several different types

Well I fitted PT-40,and everything works great but the temp is showing same as yours --C,I know that I don't have an outside temp. sensor, but with no luck as wiring is not simple,or maybe I didn't try hard enough to get it work, but I enabled it in the BSI though.

My wiper stalk end can't be open as well,so I bought a new (used) Com2000 unit from Gti,and going to fit it soon, hope it will work right.

Ok,

So I got hold of a 3 line display PPT40 and installed it no problem.

I have popped the end off my wiper stalk but cannot see where I should be testing with the cocktail stick.

I have attached a picture and wondered if any one could advise. Could it be that I need a new COMM 2000?

Thanks in advance.
