Hi, car is a 1.4i auto, year 2000, I,m having the complete exhaust changed incl the cat, my question is, how many 02 sensors does my car have, 1 or 2? I will be looking to change the sensors as well so need to know, a hip injury forbids me from getting under the car. If it does have 2 sensors will they both be the same or will 1 be a pre cat and the other a post cat?
Thanks in advance.

some cars got 2 sensors, and others got one,as mine in 2006 ,1.4 Auto, and it only got one sensor,so you need to fit what your car got already.

You are most welcome my friend, well for a detailed version of my answer,I would need your car VIN so that I can check what your car got from factory, but you can see both O2 sensors while you are standing looking at the engine bay,as usually the first (upper) O2 sensor is before CAT,as you can see it on top of the manifold, and the second (Lower) O2 sensor is after the CAT right on the first curve in the pipe,it can be see from above,no need to lay down.

Thank you for a detailed answer, my cat is not below the manifold, it is under the car, which proves what I was told in that the 206 petrol cars have 2 different locations for the cat.

Well that is checking by the VIN would answer everything,as I can see what you got 100%,unless you already had the job done

Single lambda sensor in the down pipe for that VIN.
