This is my 1st diesel car, it's the lovely powerful 1.4 hdi haha what's the correct oil to put in this?

I use 10W40 semi-synthetic for diesels .. i

It's a paper filter. You need to remove the filter housing (big black plastic thing with built-in "nut" to undo it). Then pull the old filter out and push the new one in ... clean up the inside of the housing as much as poss to remove the old oil.

And make sure you have something under the filter housing like an old towel or plenty of paper towels to catch the oil as it is upside down! .. Clever!!! Nothing better that black filthy oil all down the engine and all over the floor under the car ..

Oil drain plug seal is a small copper washer. Get a new one of those as well ...

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.
