Hi,

I've been slowly fixing a number of malfunctioning bulbs in my 2005 hatchback. Since I've acquired it two years ago, the rear fog light has never worked.

I assumed it was an optional extra which wasn't fitted to the car. Not least because the car has sailed through an MOT and been serviced in that time, with not even a word of advice.

However, my car is now overdue for its next MOT, and sitting in the driveway until I can assure myself that it will pass. I've found out that it's likely that the rear fog light will be tested this time.

I have pulled out the bulb, and see the filament is intact and the contacts are clean. The next step is, I think, for me to check the relevant fuse, but, to my embarrassment, despite extensive googling, I can't identify where this might be.

I wonder whether you could advise?

Another question is whether it is likely to be the fuse at all. Would a failed fuse disable both the light and the tell tale?

If not, it would seem more likely that the problem lies with the switch (which would be a considerably more complex repair)

Hi!

Your 206 has multiplexed electrical system, so no fuse for the rear fog, all goes through BSI via VAN bus.

You'll need to see if the wiring and terminals might still be alive (yet maybe dirty): www.206info.co.uk/Foru...tml#590542

And then if no voltage arrives, a BSI reset (scroll down to "How to Disconnect the Battery Safely") is adviseable at this point. If still no luck, check the last bit: www.206info.co.uk/Foru...tml#649113

If your car came off a factory with front fogs, but now it hasn't, try twisting the stalk twice. Otherwise you might need to either attempt to wire up some front fogs, or change BSI settings with PP2000 (Peugeot Planet)

2.0 HDi, year 2000 (E's restin')

Missus' 1.6 16v CC, year 2007 (L-plates to P-plates to NO-plates, but now she wants powwer:))
£50 1.4 HDi, year 2002 (seatless transporter, SORNed, rust needs patching)

Thank you. Sadly, it looks like this is going to be more complex than I initially imagined. I'll have a tinker with a multimeter this evening, and post an update as to my findings.
