Hi all, I have a small problem!
The driver's door lock on my 1999 206 L (non central locking model) has developed a fault in that anything from a screwdriver to the ring pull from a drink can will open it - if you can fit an item into the slot, the lock will turn. Now this is funny...until someone breaks into my car!
Can I repair or replace the lock without having to change them all?

Peugeot main dealer can supply a replacement lock barrel matched to the original key.
NOTE: It takes up to 2 weeks as the lock barrel is built to order & comes from France.
Peugeot main dealer will ask for your photo ID & proof of car ownership before supplying a lock / key.
Have you tried some lubricant in the lock barrel?

Thanks! I didn't realise they'd supply a matching lock.
I'm not sure I understand your last comment. How would lubricant help? Sorry if that's a stupid question!

spray a bit of WD40 into the lock
the pins might be stuck
But in the door lock obviously

NO
Do not use WD40 in locks. It is an oil based lubricant. Dirt and dust stick to the oil and that then makes the locks wear even quicker.
Use a PTFE based product. WD40 do one in their specialist range wd40specialist.com/pro.../dry-lube/
It's also worth using this on the fuel cap lock in winter to avoid it freezing. We've not had a frozen fuel cap on here for a couple of years, although the winters haven't been as harsh

I've just seen the last reply...too late unfortunately. I already tried it but to no avail. 
Should I just visit my local dealer and order a new lock, or have I got a realistic hope of fixing this one?
