Had a problem a few weeks back with P0136 showing up and bringing on engine light also car went into limp mode i.e. No power
Garage diagnosed coil pack and plugs ? Which cost me £80. Car ran ok for two days and problem occurred again. This time garage diagnosed leaking head gasket
Had this fixed and car ran really well apart from uneven tick over and engine revs increasing to 1500 when de clutching and coming to a stand still
Fault diagnosed as leaking injector seals. These were replaced and car now runs like a dream
However now thinking that everything was now ok I found out that p0136 was being registered again BUT engine warning light doesn't come on
I can clear the code with my obd tester but the code comes back but again the light is off
Any ideas anyone please

Does the engine light come on when you start the car? It should do as a system test along with ABS etc if fitted.

Your code is for the front lambda sensor.

Your code is for the front lambda sensor.
Engine light comes on normally at start up

Code actually refers to downstream lambda (rear)

Thanks

It's either not a permanent fault, or you need to change the sensor then

Well this fault P0136,it don't trigger the MIL on,but you will notice symptoms like poor fuel mileage,or misfire,..

and the causes of this fault is:

1-Faulty O2 sensor leak in exhaust close to O2 sensor
2-Short to voltage on O2 signal circuit
3-Open in circuit resistance caused by corrosion in connector

and to fix it,you need to do :
1-check exhaust for leaks.
2-check the wiring and socket for corrosion or maybe a damaged wiring.

Car has passed MOT and emission levels are perfect
Checked to see if P0136 was still beng registered and it's not
Petrol consumption is about 35 mpg around town
Only problem we have noticed now is that sometimes the engine cuts out !!! Scarey for my daughter so I need to get to the bottom of this
Read on other forums that this is a known problem but no one can say exactly what causes it

Anyone got any information

Thanks

Question is .. is it code P0136 or is the code reader used misreading as it isn't 100% Peugeot compatible? I've tried several on our two Pugs and they don't all throw up the same results. In the end only PP2000 and my PSA compatible Sealey VS863 (?) seem to show the codes consistently.

If it cuts out, it could be the crank sensor especially if it won't restart straight away.

Coil pack issues tend to mean it misfires badly but then comes back randomly.

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.
