I wanted to share this in case anyone has the same problem. I had the problem of intermittent non starting for a couple of weeks finally becoming more permanent yesterday. The clue to the problem was the absence of hmmmmmmm sound from the fuel lift pump when key is turned.

After much research on the internet about F2 a relay under the ECU (not fitted on my model) and checking voltage to the pump itself (which was low), I finally found the answer in the Peugot Forums thread below.

Lifting the central grey plug in the fuse box I quickly spotted the tell tale "black ring" around the female connector in the plug for the red wire. Cleaning traces of oxidisation from the associated pin seems to have done the trick.

A simple fix when you know where to look but a real pain if you don't.
