Recently bought a nice little 1.4 206s (2004) but it has a couple of irritating issues that I thought were easily fixable on the test drive but have turned out tone a bit harder than I thought.

1. At tickover there is a sort of lumpy vibration Shocked

2. There is a sort of heavy road noise when driving Shocked

My garage checked it over and found that someone had either removed the engine management bulb or blanked it with black silicone to not light up.. Anyway, there was a code showing for lambda sensor so had it changed and also the coil pack to see if that would help with idling issue. Plus all hoses were checked for leaks/splits. It didn't help..

The heavy road noise sounds like the gearbox bearing so I guess a replacement is needed..

Any help with tickover issues would be appreciated?

Thanks

Mike

1. Do the revs go up and down with this lumpy vibration?

2. Is the road noise a rattling noise in lower gears, that disappears if you press and hold the clutch down?
