My 206 2.0L HDi SW started smell like diesel was leaking, I took it to our local service station and they discovered the diesel pump was leaking. The pump (Bosch) was removed and repaired by a diesel pump service station. R 5117.45 later and it is now perfect, but the service station informed me that the crank shaft pulley is starting shedding rubber and should also be replaced.

The car has only done 132,400 kms, is this normal for 2.0L HDi's?
Secondly, I cannot replace the crank shaft pulley this month, is it dangerous to continue using the car?

Hope somebody can advice me.
Thanks so much

Our 1.4's crank pully went around 80k miles ... and started to make a hell of a racket .. so coated that side of engine and engine bay in fine particles as it wore itself out.
Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.

It is now 11 months later and the diesel pump started leaking again. Took it back to the diesel service person. He send photographs back illustrating rust inside the pump which caused the pressure valve to fail.
The service station which removed the pump then inspected to see if there is any water present in the tank and fuel filter housing. It was all negative, no indication of water - I need to know how can the pump rust on the inside if there is no water present in the fuel system. Is it possible that there was rust in it which caused the pump leaking the previous time?

I'll highly appreciate it if any other members who experienced the same rust issue can tell me how and why rust appeared inside the pump.

Thanks so much
