I want to check the injectors on a Peugot 206 1.6 16valve. Can't find any info on it. The rail is held on with two bolts, but there is a black plastic cylinder (presumably something to do with air intake) which completely covers the rail, so the rail can't be got at. I obviously need to remove that cylinder but I can't see any bolts/clips for it - any idea how to remove it?

that cylinder thing is the throttle body, you would half to remove the manifold to remove that

Best of luck

It's the top of the inlet manifold, the metal thing with the black front is the throttle body. There are some great pictures of it here (I'll remove the link when it's sold Smile www.ebay.co.uk/itm/02-...Sw4CFYnMKm
The manifold seems to have top and bottom halves, but I can't see how they come apart - they may even be stuck together, and it wouldn't help anyway.
It looks like it might be possible to move the injector rail up a bit and out of the way, but if not it would be necessary to unbolt the manifold from behind the engine - a nightmare.

Luckily it's academic as I have found the problem and it's not the injectors. It would be good to know how to do this fairly basic thing though, and I'll post a "How-To" if someone tells me.

207 or 307 Haynes manual will tell you .. the engine just wasn't covered in either 206 manual for some reason ...

Buying a manual is always the first thing to do, but I had heard that this engine wasn't covered in the Haynes manual, which is why I didn't.

Finding out that it is covered in another manual is very helpful. A good factual post by someone who has read my first one - thanks!
