Hi, i have a peugeot 206 2.0 s16 2003. I need a new pre cat lambda sensor does anyone know the bosch and peugeot part number for confirmation ?
Some sites are listing the sensor cable 565mm long and others at 1260mm.
Thanks.

Hello, there is a tip in ServiceBox for pre-cat lambda sensor to always use the 1628 HQ (7W 1250mm) part, which says "Secure the surplus length of the electrical harness using a tie wrap;~Always stay away from the exhaust line", looks like it's the cable-tie time
If you choose to ignore the tip, then it's the 1628 HN (7W 565mm) for all older GTi 138, and the 1250mm one for those with motorised throttle bodies with RPO 09674 and later (production from May 2003).
Sorry not got Bosch numbers to reference.

The cable is part of the lambda circuit .. I think if you were to fit the shorter one it affects the operation.
I once fitted a universal lambda (LS615) to an Alfa. The instructions were very specific about cutting at the correct point to leave the right length of cable .. and no soldering.
Hence the two different coloured plugs on the 206 lambdas .. pale green and pale blue.

Upper and lower lambda sensor have different connectors to stop them being connected the wrong way round.

Hi, In the end i bought the shorter one 565mm for pre cat, do you think it could cause problems ?
Should i have got the 1260mm one ?
If so i will return it as not fit it yet.

We've only discussed pre-cat variants (green connectors), they are interchangeable (because ServiceBox bulletin tip suggests to always use 1628 HQ in pre-cat, maybe simply because the dealer's short one is discontinued).
You should be just as fine with the shorter one you bought, if your car is without motorised TB.
Code:: |
P/N Length Fits where Fits which model
1628 HN 565 Pre-cat Any GTi 138 except with motorised throttle body
1628 HQ 1250 Pre-cat Since RPO 09674 but only if throttle body is motorised
--
1628 PL 1250 Post-cat All GTi 138

Yes i have the cable TB.
Got the lambda sensor on, bosch part no LS6027-0258 006 027.
Car now has a very smooth idle, The problem i had was on idle it had a very random misfire. Had it scanned with planet which showed no problem, the mechanic told me it could be an ageing o2 sensor, anyway changed and all good now.
Thanks.
