Pug 206 1.4 Petrol Verve - 2006
When I first start the car she struggles and shudders and sometimes cuts out, especially if not driven for a few days. after about 5 seconds she is fine, but now idles 1 bar lower than normal. I think there is also a lack of power driving normally but only slight and only sometimes as far as I can tell. The starting issue is permanent, though if I turn her off and straight back on after driving she starts normally (though still ideals lower)
Kwik fit didn’t know what it was, they suggested fuel filter, but they don;t do that. Worth trying?
The spark plugs were changed last service and the issue began a few weeks after, I doubt this would be it but is the only thing different. Not sure what plugs they put in.
The head gasket was done by a reputable garage couple of years ago and there is NO mayo at all on oil cap. There is some grit in the coolant tank though not sure if related.
Does this sound familiar to anyone or does anyone have diagnostic skills and know what this is likely to be?
I'm happy to get my hands dirty, but not very experienced.

That's assuming there is a fuel filter ... I wouldn't trust KF to know .. but I bet they would take your money and tell you they changed it though.
There is an issue with some coil packs and NGK plugs so it would be useful to know what combination you have.

I'd go with plugs first call. Wrong type can play havoc, although this is usually persistent even after warming up

Fuel filter is inside the tank & official Peugeot advice is to leave it alone as its self cleaning.
Coolant temp sensor is considered a consumable on these TU3 / ET3 engines.
Bosch spark plugs are best for these 1.4 petrol engines in the 206.
If its the TU3 / 8 valve engine then maybe the valve clearances need checking / adjusting.
If you have electronic fly by wire throttle set up ( will do if its the 16 valve engine, possible on a 05 year 8 valve ) then the throttle body is a known weak spot.
Get someone with Peugeot Planet to scan the car & see if any faults are reported back / check the throttle is working correctly as it also controls the idle speed.
