Hi,
I have owned my 206 2.0L HDI GLX 2003 from new and have never had a problem until now, not bad for 17.5 years! The car has done 79,000 miles.
Unfortunately I have the ABS warning light on all the time has been intermittent for the last year. Two weeks ago I took the wheels off cleaned them and put them back on, after doing this I started the car and the car bleeped and seemed to reset itself with the clock time needing to be put right as if the battery had been disconnected and the ABS light went out!
It stayed good for one week then came back on again. For the last 6 years i have done all the servicing myself changed the brake fluid 6 years ago and will be replacing all the brakes and fluid very soon as well as the timing belt and auxiliary belt.
I have PP2000 and indicates the fault to be the MK70 pump.
before I buy a replacement MK70 Ate controller I would like to check the wiring for any faults, the MK70 socket and relays etc.
I have checked wheel rotation with PP2000 to see if the sensors are working and they all show speed so that looks ok but haven't driven the car looking at the results as my old pc batteries are no good any more.
PP2000 has a wiring diagram tool but i need a username and pw for that to work I want to know the supply voltages at the ABS socket and other places. Any chance someone who has had it working for them tell me a username and pw please?
In the pic below does anyone know what this electrical box does please? cant find answer anywhere.
Also see my findings with pp2000. There all in order with the test titles then the results as I click on them.
Why does it indicate a voltage of 20.3v for the controller supply?
Anyone technical out there what is the best way to tackle this? Peugeot parts say a new mk70 controller will cost £750 just for the part! If i do get a second hand one will a Citroën mk70 work?

Teves mk70 ABS unit pump failure is a very common 206 & 207 issue.
If the car is a keeper then a service / exchange ABS unit is the way forward.
Easiest to swop out with the passenger headlamp removed.
Pressure bleed the brakes at the ABS hydraulic modulator - take it for a test drive & activate the ABS.
This time rebleed the brakes at each wheel.
FWIW- BBA reman supplied mine when I used to be a 206 owner.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm wondering how/if you resolved the problem. My 206 has the same issue of the unit sensing a high supply voltage. I did swap out for a second hand unit, but had the same problem occur soon after.
Don't want to pay for a rebuilt unit if its actually a wiring/earthing issue.

I've also just come across this fault I believe so would be interested to hear if the OP or anyone else found a solution

hi scobie140,
if you are having the same fault code, abs recirculation pump locked, as shown in this thread. it means the actual abs block itself is faulty. I had this exact same issue 2 months ago. I bought a used MK70 - 206 ABS pump for £20 off ebay, the part numbers didn't quite match but i got one with that was simular age to my car. Removed old abs pump from car, took the black abs computer off the bottom of the abs pump via 3 torx screws off my old pump pump, then put that onto my replacement pump (so no need to code car etc) and it worked a treat. no fault code, PP2000 self test on abs pump works and abs works perfectly irl. Hi
Thanks for the post Squeakers and the details in your main thread. I need to address a similar issue on my 206 before the MOT in Feb.
I see that you had the 'permanent fault ABS/ASR...' fault code on your PP which is pretty generic and could be lots of things - I have the same. Can you confirm if you expanded the fault and had an over voltage fault? The reason being, my fault is identified in 'dynamic information' as control unit supply being 20.3V and it should be 'between 7 and 18.5V. Which makes me think its a wiring/module issue rather than the block. The original poster also had this particular issue.
I have messed around with the earth to make sure it's good and swapped the module with a second-hand unit. I'm now thinking maybe it's a supply problem and maybe somehow not having a good supply is letting noise onto one of the supply rails and it's sensing the over voltage. I have of course confirmed the running voltage is good at around 14.4V.
I can make the pump spin in live testing.
