My 180 has the rarer MFD display part no. 96533827XT installed but hasn't been working even since my brother owned the car back in 2021

Is there anywhere that could diagnose if the unit itself is faulty or can replace it?

Also, would there be any other reason why if fitted the Connects2 steering wheel adaptor would not allow the controls to be used? Can this be impacted if a wire to the MFD has been cut or the MFD not working?

Wow nice MFD you're sporting!

I've got the usual multiplexed multiline display, and the RD03-01 radio stopped working altogether when I disconnected the MFD, seems they are quite a bit interlinked.

Since your radio still works, I'd say some wires between the units are still functioning.

Don't know who can fix specifically these units, but recommend showing it to an auto-electrician, who fixes e.g. dashboards, and could inspect for cold soldering (any electrician should be able to do that for that matter). Most of the time it's something trivial.
