It's fine there. easily reached by both driver and nav and once the cables are fastened to the seat belts they don't swing around.

It's not a Cooper charger. Or at least nothing like the one I had in mine.

It's an Eaton M45. Was originally fitted to a Mini Cooper S then was on a Renault Spider. Got a spare engine on a stand to trial fit it to and make the brackets up on.
Fits where the air-con pump used to be but I'll be moving the oil filter.

Started making the bracket to hold the SC to the engine.
It is going where the aircon pump used to live and due to it's length I'm getting rid of the oil filter housing and making a take-off plate to move the filter out the way.
Anyway, let the pics do the talking
More to follow...........

Just to note, in those above pics, the M 8 studded bar is 10mm too short and is only a temp fit! It will be longer and have a nut on top too.
Bracket is now finished and cold zinc galvanised.
Next job is making the oil take-off plate.

Strange it didn't look like the charger I had on my cooper S. The M45s start to top out at about 270ish on the coopers but I think for a gti 250 is a decent target. The same as the Z22 engine does. 145bhp-250bhp with the sole addition of an M62 charger (the next size up).

250bhp would be mega in my car as it is light and fast as it is. Can't really be arsed spending a fuckton of money on uprated internals to go over 300 as it would be cheaper to just buy an evo!

Bracket is finished
Front end of car stripped down
Bracket fitted to engine in car
Supercharger fitted to car
Just waiting on the precision engineers to finish with the inlet manifold flange, supercharger outlet flange and oil take off flange
