Hi there I'm trying to change my drop links, I've managed to remove the bottom nut but the top 1 won't budge and now has rounded off, how do I go about getting it off now Sad

Yeah the nut turns but spins with the torx bit also but now the torx bit has rounded so i can't get anything to lock the bolt while the nut spins off

If it won't turn at all couple of options 1) coat it in releasing fluid ie wd40 a leave overnight 2) use an impact wrench, if you can get the use of one 3) use a big breaker bar to crack it off or worst case oxyactelyne gas axe!!

if the whole lot is turning in ball joint socket, turn on opposite lock and get a good pair of mole grips lock them on tight then turn back the other way and try again!!

an impact wrench is best as it shakes the crap off the threads when you start buzzing it off Smile

Oxy acetylene seems a lil ott tbh.. Your more likely to melt it for good and fuse the metals together and then your in a worse predicament...

Cheers guys but no luck so have had to put bottom 1 on and leave it till tomorrow and angle grind the nut off, believe it or not it's an original pug just been on the car for 6years

get a drill bit(for drilling metal) same size as the bolt and drill the B*tard when you get down to the nut it will just fall off

I had the same problem! Cut the rubber cover off and you will find two flat edges to grip with either a set of pliers or molegrips! Hope that helps you out.
